Multifamily Programs

Multifamily

Minnesota Power’s multifamily programs offer a variety of options for facility managers and owners to save energy and money through energy conservation. These programs are designed to lower operating costs and increase property value, as well as lower costs of living and increase comfort for residents. In 2021, Minnesota Power provided over $360,000 in rebates to multifamily facilities!

The Multifamily Direct Installation program provides a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency in multifamily buildings. This FREE program provides an energy analysis and comprehensive report, education to tenants and building operators, immediate savings through direct installation of products, and the potential for additional savings through enhanced incentives.

If you are interested in participating in this program, contact Emily Heiken at eheiken@mnpower.com or 218-355-3070.

More Details:

Energy analysis of in-unit and common area spaces and report:

Energy professionals will conduct an energy analysis of in-unit and common areas. After the analysis, the building operator will receive a detailed report of recommendations for additional energy efficiency opportunities specific to the facility. Building owners will be eligible to receive an enhanced incentive for taking action on any of the opportunities identified in the report within a specified time period.

Educational event for tenants:

An optional educational seminar for tenants is offered through the program. This allows Minnesota Power to answer questions about the process, provide information about products being installed and encourage general awareness of energy efficiency.

Direct installation of energy efficient technologies:

During the analysis, Minnesota Power will provide and install energy-saving products throughout the facility. Items installed are customized depending on need, fuel type and income eligibility; they can include items such as:

  • Advanced power strips
  • Dehumidifier replacement & recycling*
  • Faucet aerators
  • LED bulbs
  • LED exit signs
  • Showerheads
  • Pipe wrap
  • Refrigerator replacement*
  • Refrigerator thermometers
  • Shower timers
  • Vending misers

*These items are for income-qualified facilities only
