About Our Region
Minnesota Power’s Economic Development Program serves businesses, communities and individuals in its 26,000-square-mile service territory in northeastern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin. We work with businesses seeking to expand or relocate here.
Our service territory includes abundant forest resources, some of the richest iron ore and strategic mineral deposits on earth, and a growing aviation sector. Natural resources continue to drive the local economy and the port of Duluth links us with maritime trade via Lake Superior and the St. Lawrence Seaway. The region also is a popular tourist destination, has robust information technology infrastructure, and a highly skilled and educated talent base.
