Clean coils on refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers to keep appliances running efficiently.
Replace furnace filters on a regular basis.
Have your furnace tuned up and cleaned every other year to keep it running efficiently.
Turn off TVs, lights, radios and other devices when not in use.
Unplug electronic equipment when not in use.
Use a smart power strip to help avoid "vampire draw" or "phantom load" (aka, the wrath of Lord Socket and wasted energy!).
Choose lighting options with the ENERGY STAR® label.

Duluth is one of 50 cities nationwide vying for the Georgetown University Energy Prize over a two-year period. The community that saves the most energy and comes up with great energy-saving ideas other cities can adopt will receive $5 million.
