Rental Vacancy Policy

The policy of Minnesota Power for premises with landlords is to revert the service to the landlord when the rental property is vacant.

Minnesota Power Rental Property Electric Service Form

Rental Vacancy Tips:

  • Landlords may request combined billing for managing several properties and accounts. Instead of receiving individual bills for each property, landlords can receive them all at one time in the same envelope.
  • For times when there is a possibility of service interruption, we offer a Tenant-Landlord Release of Information Form. This form allows Minnesota Power to release only pertinent information to help avoid service interruptions. The tenant and landlord must both sign and return the form to Minnesota Power for each information request.

Minnesota Power’s parent company, ALLETE, has entered an agreement to be acquired by a partnership led by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Global Infrastructure Partners and start the process to become a private company.

This transaction will not change our operations, strategy or shared purpose and values, and it is business as usual for all of us at Minnesota Power. Learn more at www.ALLETEforward.com.
