| Electric power is getting more expensive. |

Here's why, and here's what you can expect.

At Minnesota Power, we’ve worked hard to keep our costs low. In fact, we haven’t had a base increase in 14 years.
Through a process called a “rate case”, we’ve asked the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission for an increase in electric base rates to cover investments—
- in cleaner energy, including new and expanded wind developments and emission-reduction technologies;
- in transmission upgrades, to ensure the reliable power you expect;
—and increases in our operations and labor expenses, to meet the rising costs of fuel and employee health care.
It’s what we need to do to ensure a bright future.
We’re proud of our 100-plus year history as a reliable, responsible energy provider to our 141,000 customers, and we look forward to serving you for the next 100.
